Helly Hansen extends with the Kieler Woche

"Especially in difficult times, long-term partnerships are important, so it was a pleasure for us to support the Kieler Woche team, even in Corona times. We are looking forward to intensive sailing days in Schilksee, which will also be attended by many sailing professionals, with whom we are united by an equally long-standing partnership", says Michael Uhl, Global Marketing Director at Helly Hansen. "With the feedback from professional sailors and their trust in the brand, we have been developing new designs for decades that meet the high demands of sailors on national and international waters.”

For the participants in sailing sports, the Kieler Woche, the largest sailing regatta worldwide, is an important highlight of the year. Even the current circumstances do not prevent them from taking part in the regattas with full ambition: "The athletes are looking forward to the Kieler Woche. They acknowledge that the organizers reacted quickly and rescheduled the event. In order to finally be allowed to regatta in strong fields again, the restrictions are accepted", says Hermann Hell, press spokesman of Kieler Woche since 1991.

Professional sailor and Helly Hansen Ambassador Robert Stanjek, initiator and skipper of Offshore Team Germany, will present a new project at Kieler Woche. Furthermore, the reigning world champions in 49er FX, Tamara Echegoyen and Paula Barcelo (Spain), are expected in Kiel. "It is the first time since February that we are back on the water. We are looking forward to seeing the teams and our partners again. All those who made it possible to get Kiel Week up and running have done an incredible job," said the Spaniards, who will be equipped by Helly Hansen.

Like the 49er sailors, their fellow compatriots Diego Botin/Iago Marra, two-time European Champions and reigning Vice World Champions in the 49er, and the World Championship 6th in the Nacra 17, Tara Pacheco/Florian Tritte, will be competing in Kiel. All three crews are already qualified for the Olympic Games and will represent Spain in Japan. Of course, the top crews will also have to fulfill all Corona regulations necessary to enter Germany and to participate in the competitions.

In addition to the sailing professionals, the Kieler Woche organizing committee will also be prepared for any weather on the water and on land thanks to the clothing by Helly Hansen. (hel)
